A Treasure Hunt of Good Deals

Essex-Middle River Patch helps your family's budget with a list of local deals.

In the current economy, with so many folks trying to tighten their belts, it is sometimes necessary to find the best bang for your buck! Some of the very best deals can often be found in consignment shops and thrift stores. The long-standing Goodwill Stores are a great source of best bargains and there are several in the area.

Here are a few others:

1. - Located on 10 Stemmers Run Road, it has a wide selection of games, books and toys, jewelry and household items, along with clothing for all ages and sizes. There are usually items on special mark-downs, and from time to time, they run half-price sales. Check it out  seven days a week.

2. Lutheran Center - Located on 1706 Eastern Avenue,  it offers a selection of clothing, household items, books and knick-knacks. You never know what fantastic deal you might stumble upon in this long-time Avenue shop.

3. Hampden Junque  - Located at 1006 W 36th St., this store is a little farther away but is worth it and has some very unique and antique items.

4. Killer Trash - Located at 602 S Broadway, this shop in Fells Point believes that “one person’s trash is another person’s dream."

5. Plato’s Closet - Located at 919 Taylor Avenue in Towson, this shop buys and sells gently used clothes and sells its items at up to 70 percent less than stores at the mall.
