UPDATE: Gas Line Break Closes Pulaski Highway Into Rush Hour

Fire and police crews responded to a struck natural gas line Monday morning in Rosedale.

UPDATE (4 p.m.)—The westbound Pulaski Highway road closure Rossville Boulevard and Petrie Way, caused by a gas line break Monday morning, could continue into rush hour. According to police spokeswoman Elise Armacost: Traffic in the area has been diverted because the entire westbound lane of Route 40 is closed. BGE crews estimated that it would take several hours to make the repair and that evening rush hour traffic may be affected. --- UPDATE (11:56 p.m.)— Westbound Route 40 could remain closed between Rossville Boulevard and Petrie Way through rush hour after a gas line was struck by a utility crew Monday morning. Baltimore County utility crews working on an 8-inch sewer line around 9:40 a.m. when they struck a 2-inch gas line near the west bound portion of 8700 block of Pulaski Highway. The lines had marked for digging by Miss Utility and that the county crews were working within guidelines, said Cooke. Just wondering if the Guidelines could be Posted??   more ›

Man Charged in White Marsh, Pulaski Highway Murder

Police have accused a Baltimore man of fatally stabbing an acquaintance on July 23.

A Baltimore man has been charged with fatally stabbing an acquaintance on Monday in White Marsh. Mark Brown Jr., 20, of the 200 block of North Washington Street has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of 52-year-old Phillip Weatherford of the 4100 block of Woodhaven Avenue, according to Baltimore County police. Essex precinct officers responded to Pulaski Highway near Ebenezer Road at about 2:40 a.m. on July 23, where Weatherford had been stabbed multiple times inside of his 2002 GMC Envoy. He later died while being treated at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, police said. More Rain in the Forecast for Essex-Middle River

The area is bracing for more precipitation following flooding on Friday.

Flooding has become a regular occurrence in Baltimore County over the last month. The Essex-Middle River area is no exception, with the latest coming Friday night along Pulaski Highway as motorists dealt with fast-rising waters, as WJZ-TV reported. Firefighters in Baltimore County responded to 16 calls for people in trouble because of the flooding Friday night, according to WJZ. Many motorists didn’t realize how deep the water was until it was too late. Could even more flooding be on the way? There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Monday with a 70 percent chance of precipitation on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. Man Sought in Kidnapping, Assault in Rosedale

Police allege Marlow Otis McLane, 39, held two people against their will from May 10-11.

The Baltimore County Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a 39-year-old man in connection with a kidnapping and assault that allegedly occurred between May 10-11 in Rosedale. Police are seeking Marlow Otis McLane, of no fixed address. McLane is described as a black male,  approximately 5-foot-6, 180 pounds, with a beard and mustache. He may go by the alias Marlon McLean or the nickname, “Dee.” According to a police news release, officers responded at 12:10 a.m., on May 11 to the 8200 block of Pulaski Highway where two people reported that they had been kidnapped, assaulted and held against their will at a trailer in the area. Man Arrested for Pointing Gun at Off-Duty City Officers

The 24-year-old led police on a chase through Baltimore City and Baltimore County after threatening officers outside Excape Nightclub on Pulaski Highway.

 Baltimore County Police arrested a 24-year-old man wanted for pointing a handgun at two off-duty Baltimore City officers outside a Middle River nightclub last week. Lt. Richard Lisko of the Essex Precinct said William H. Greb III was arrested late Monday afternoon at Excape Nightclub, located on the 10000 block of Pulaski Highway, less than a week after the incident at the same establishment. Greb was charged with two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault, one count of a handgun violation and two counts of fleeing and eluding police in connection with the Dec. 29 incident.
