Northbound Interstate 95 will be temporarily closed in White Marsh early Monday as part of the ongoing express toll lane project. The closure, scheduled from midnight to 5 a.m. May 13, will allow crews to perform bridge demolition work, state transportation officials announced in a release Friday. All northbound traffic will be detoured onto eastbound White Marsh Boulevard to Philadelphia Road, then onto westbound White Marsh Boulevard, back onto the highway. The toll lane project is slated to be complete in 2014. Work on Interstate 95 over Campbell Boulevard will continue, weather pending.
The ongoing Maryland Transportation Authority project to widen Interstate 95 will result in overnight traffic interruptions on a primary White Marsh road this week. Campbell Boulevard will be periodically closed to traffic between Honeygo Boulevard and Franklin Square Drive from midnight to 5 a.m. through Thursday, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority. The closures will be handled in 15-minute intervals. The $142.6 million project involves the reconstruction of the I-95 interchange at MD Route 43. The work is on target to be finished next year. Watch for nighttime lane closures this month in White Marsh.
Lane closures are expected to disrupt nighttime traffic in the White Marsh area this month. Weather permitting, the closures are scheduled between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., each night and morning between Feb. 11 and Feb. 14, and between Feb. 18 and Feb. 21. During those times, all lanes of westbound Interstate 695 (Outer Loop) at Interstate 95 (Exit 33) will be completely closed. The detour route will direct drivers to northbound I-95, to westbound Maryland Route 43 (Exit 67B, White Marsh Boulevard), to southbound I-95, to westbound I-695 (Exit 64), Maryland Transportation Authority officials announced. Emergency crews and Baltimore County police responded to the Rosedale accident.
A child was struck by a car late Friday afternoon in the Rosedale area, Baltimore County police announced. At around 4:56 p.m., a reportedly 7-year-old girl was struck at the intersection of Philadelphia Road and Rossville Boulevard. As of 5:25 p.m., emergency crews and police remained at the scene, according to a release. The child was planned to be transported to Johns Hopkins Pediatric, police stated. Workers plan to replace underground pipes between Mayflower Road and Hospital Drive along Maryland Route 7, impacting the Rosedale and White Marsh area.
This weekend, the State Highway Administration plans to close a stretch of Philadelphia Road, impacting the Rosedale and White Marsh area. Crews plan to excavate and replace two major underground drainage pipes between Mayflower Road and Hospital Drive, the SHA announced in a release. Beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday and continuing until 5 a.m., Monday, the following detours will go into effect: In case of inclement weather that disrupts the work, the same detours will go into effect between Jan. 25 and Jan. 28, according to the SHA. The detours will likely impact those traveling to the Community College of Baltimore County Essex, Franklin Square Hospital and other area institutions and businesses. Emergency crews responded at about 9 a.m. on Thursday, police said.
A man was injured after jumping from an overpass into a construction zone on Interstate 95 Thursday morning. The unidentified man jumped from the ramp carrying traffic from southbound I-95 toward the inner loop of Interstate 695 toward Essex at about 9 a.m., according to Baltimore County police spokeswoman Louise Rogers-Feher. The man was transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center with multiple injuries, Rogers-Feher said. The man's condition was not immediately known, and police had no further details.

For the next two years, Campbell Boulevard is expected to host periodic single-lane closures and construction, the Maryland Department of Transportation announced.
