Northbound Interstate 95 will be temporarily closed in White Marsh early Monday as part of the ongoing express toll lane project. The closure, scheduled from midnight to 5 a.m. May 13, will allow crews to perform bridge demolition work, state transportation officials announced in a release Friday. All northbound traffic will be detoured onto eastbound White Marsh Boulevard to Philadelphia Road, then onto westbound White Marsh Boulevard, back onto the highway. The toll lane project is slated to be complete in 2014. Baltimore County police found the body in a vehicle and notes led police to suspect something dangerous was inside.
Baltimore County police found a man dead Saturday morning in an SUV in White Marsh, and notes inside the vehicle initially led them to suspect a hazardous material situation. According to a county police news release, an officer was patrolling for a missing person at 9:53 a.m. when he found a black Chevrolet Blazer near Crossroads Circle and Williams Court. The officer tapped the window and saw a man unresponsive inside. Three hand-written notes in the Blazer appeared to warn of something dangerous in the vehicle, according to the release. County officials celebrated the opening Friday of the new Atlantic Design manufacturing building in White Marsh. The company, which makes equipment used to dispose of grit during construction, has worked on restoration of historic bridges—including the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and the Golden Gate Bridge—as well as Naval and commercial shipyards. The 42,000-square-foot facility at Baltimore Crossroads @95 is more than double its former home, according to a county news release. "We're pleased Atlantic Design has joined Baltimore County's business community," County Executive Kevin Kamenetz said in a news release. Northbound traffic will be diverted at the White Marsh exit for roadwork.
Motorists headed north on Interstate 95 might find a bit of a detour during the overnight commute next week. All northbound lanes of I-95 will be closed between midnight and 5 a.m. on March 4 through March 7 at the White Marsh exit, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority. The work, to demolish and remove a bridge, is weather pending. Work on Interstate 95 over Campbell Boulevard will continue, weather pending.
The ongoing Maryland Transportation Authority project to widen Interstate 95 will result in overnight traffic interruptions on a primary White Marsh road this week. Campbell Boulevard will be periodically closed to traffic between Honeygo Boulevard and Franklin Square Drive from midnight to 5 a.m. through Thursday, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority. The closures will be handled in 15-minute intervals. The $142.6 million project involves the reconstruction of the I-95 interchange at MD Route 43. The work is on target to be finished next year. When it comes to sports memorabilia, Great Moments at The Avenue at White Marsh lines their walls and shelves with it. But don't expect to simply drop in for a something signed by outgoing Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis. As his 17th season draws to a close, all things memorializing the Baltimore legend are flying off the shelves. After pulling off an unlikely win in their NFL divisional playoff game in Denver, Lewis' farewell tour will make at least one more stop: next Sunday at in Foxborough, MA, meeting the New England Patriots with the AFC championship and a trip to the Super Bowl on the line. Someone broke into and stole 3,600 gallons of fuel from Bobby's Pottys over the weekend.
A White Marsh business reports approximately 3,600 gallons of diesel fuel was stolen over the weekend. Police believe someone cut the lock on a fence gate at Bobby’s Pottys, located on the 11400 block of Red Lion Road, sometime between 11 p.m. Saturday and 3 a.m. Sunday. The business owner told police the intruder covered the security camera with black plastic bags and that two industrial-sized plastic containers were loaded into a truck and the fuel was removed from the tanks. The business owner estimated his total loss at $15,492, police said.

Finding free time can be a challenge for Renee Newberry. As the mother of three young children, the Middle River resident is used to hustling off to doctors appointments, play dates and other childcare-related issues. But that has not stopped Newberry, a freelance writer and former teacher, from keeping up with one of her passions: dancing. Newberry has studied a variety of dances, and has been involved with the artform as a performer or teacher since she was 6. Currently, Newberry is a member of the White Marsh-based Common Ground Dance Co. The group meets twice a week, and is in residence at Dancemoves Studio.
