Tyler Waldman: It's Good to be Back

Essex-Middle RIver Patch editor Tyler Waldman is back at his laptop today.

Sorry, I just stepped out for a bit. Did I miss anything? Jokes aside, it's good to be officially back in the game today, just over a month after a pretty bad car accident in Towson the Monday after Thanksgiving. I know Patch readers in the Baltimore area have read the details of what happened in the last month, and many have shared their concern here and on Facebook and Twitter. It was a rough crash. I don't remember a bit of it myself—all comes from what I've been told and what I've read—but that much I know. That's why I was taken to Shock Trauma, and that's why I spent nearly three weeks in hospitals. Many friends, family members and even a few sources old and new dropped by my room at University of Maryland Medical Center or Sinai …

Update: Tyler Waldman, Patch Editor, Distracted Before Towson Crash

A Baltimore County Police crash report reveals that Waldman, a Towson resident, failed to stop at a red light on Goucher Boulevard.

(Updated Saturday 1:31 p.m.)— A Baltimore County Police investigation revealed that Essex Patch editor Tyler Waldman was at fault in a Nov. 26 car crash that left him with serious injuries. Waldman's Honda Civic was struck by a Ford Mustang at the intersection of Goucher Boulevard and E. Joppa Road at 9:17 a.m., police said. Waldman, a 24-year-old Towson resident, was distracted while driving and drove through a red light on Goucher Boulevard, according to a police crash report. The driver of the Mustang, 37-year-old Rosedale woman Shernale T. Kenney, had the green light on Joppa Road. A Baltimore County police crash investigator concluded that both drivers were speeding. Tyler Waldman, Patch Editor Now in 'Fair Condition'

Waldman, a Towson resident, was seriously injured in Nov. 26 car crash.

Tyler Waldman, Essex Patch editor, was upgraded to 'fair condition' at Maryland Shock Trauma Monday after a Nov. 26 car crash.  According to an email from a family member, Waldman is expected to leave Shock Trauma for inpatient services at another medical facility as early as Tuesday. The 24-year-old Towson resident suffered serious injuries after his Honda Civic was struck by a Ford Mustang at the intersection of Goucher Boulevard and E. Joppa Road. The driver of the Mustang, identified by Baltimore County Police as 37-year-old Rosedale woman Shervale T. Kenney, was treated for minor injuries at Sinai Hospital. Tyler Waldman, Patch Editor Remains in Critical Condition

Waldman, a 24-year-old Towson resident, was seriously injured in a Monday morning car crash.

Essex-Middle River Patch Editor Tyler Waldman remained in critical condition Wednesday after a Monday morning car crash in Towson, according to Maryland Shock Trauma spokeswoman Cindy Rivers. Waldman, a 24-year-old Towson resident, suffered serious injuries after a Ford Mustang struck his Honda Civic at the intersection of Goucher Boulevard and E. Joppa Road. The woman driving the Mustang and her passenger were taken to Sinai Hospital for evaluation and treatment. Baltimore County Police spokeswoman Cpl. Cathleen Batton said Wednesday that the names of Mustang's occupants are not being released due to the ongoing investigation. No charges have been filed, Batton said. Investigation Into Towson Accident Continues

No charges have been filed in the Monday morning crash that injured three, including Patch Local Editor Tyler Waldman.

UPDATED (12:16 p.m.)—Police continue to investigate the Monday morning accident that injured three people including a Patch local editor. Tyler Waldman, 24, remains in critical condition at Shock Trauma, according to Cindy Rivers, a hospital spokeswoman. Details surrounding the accident remain unclear. Early investigation shows that a Honda Civic was traveling on Goucher Boulevard through the intersection of E. Joppa Road, Baltimore County police said in a statement. A Ford Mustang, traveling eastbound on East Joppa Road, struck the Civic, according to a police statement Monday. Essex-Middle River Editor Injured in Monday Crash

Tyler Jonathan Waldman, 24, is a Towson resident.

Police have identified Tyler Jonathan Waldman, 24, as the driver of a Honda Civic who suffered life-threatening injuries following a two-vehicle accident in Towson Monday morning. Cindy Rivers, a spokeswoman for Shock Trauma, said Waldman remains in critical condition. Waldman, of the 300 block of Stevenson Lane, is a graduate of both Towson High School and Towson University. He is also the editor of Essex-Middle River Patch. Prior to taking the helm of the Essex-Middle River site, Waldman served for two years as the editor of Towson Patch.
