Northbound Interstate 95 will be temporarily closed in White Marsh early Monday as part of the ongoing express toll lane project. The closure, scheduled from midnight to 5 a.m. May 13, will allow crews to perform bridge demolition work, state transportation officials announced in a release Friday. All northbound traffic will be detoured onto eastbound White Marsh Boulevard to Philadelphia Road, then onto westbound White Marsh Boulevard, back onto the highway. The toll lane project is slated to be complete in 2014. Watch for nighttime lane closures this month in White Marsh.
Lane closures are expected to disrupt nighttime traffic in the White Marsh area this month. Weather permitting, the closures are scheduled between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., each night and morning between Feb. 11 and Feb. 14, and between Feb. 18 and Feb. 21. During those times, all lanes of westbound Interstate 695 (Outer Loop) at Interstate 95 (Exit 33) will be completely closed. The detour route will direct drivers to northbound I-95, to westbound Maryland Route 43 (Exit 67B, White Marsh Boulevard), to southbound I-95, to westbound I-695 (Exit 64), Maryland Transportation Authority officials announced. Night work is expected to disrupt traffic in the White Marsh area late Sunday night into Monday morning. Weather permitting, between 10 p.m. on Jan. 27 and 5 a.m. on Jan. 28, Exit 67B from southbound Interstate 95 to westbound Maryland Route 43 (White Marsh Boulevard) will be temporarily closed, Maryland Transportation Authority officials announced. Starting this year, westbound Maryland Route 43 will include a new left turn lane and left exit to southbound Interstate 95.
The new year is bringing some major traffic changes to Interstate 95 and White Marsh Boulevard, thanks to the ongoing I-95 Express Toll Lanes project. Between 10 p.m. on Jan. 4 and 6 a.m. on Jan. 6, the ramp from northbound I-95 to westbound MD Route 43 (Exit 67B, White Marsh Boulevard) will close. Traffic will be detoured to eastbound MD Route 43 to (Exit 67A, White Marsh Boulevard) to eastbound Maryland Route 7 (Philadelphia Road) to westbound MD Route 43, according to announcement by the Maryland Transportation Authority. The new year is bringing a major traffic change to Interstate 95 and White Marsh Boulevard, thanks to the ongoing I-95 Express Toll Lanes project. The new traffic pattern—which includes the addition of a left turn lane on westbound Maryland Route 43 and new left exits toward I-95—is expected to take effect on or around Jan. 4, according to roadside signs and an announcement by the Maryland Transportation Authority. Previously, all traffic from MD Route 43, also called White Marsh Boulevard, to I-95 exited on the right. Traffic detours are expected next week on Interstate 695 at Interstate 95.
Bridgework as part of the I-95 Express Toll Lanes project is expected to cause another detour on Monday. From 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., Aug. 13 into Aug. 14, "all lanes of westbound Interstate 695 (OUTER LOOP) at Interstate 95 (Exit 33) will be completely closed," according to a Maryland Transportation Authority press release. "Traffic will be detoured off Exit 33 to northbound I-95, to westbound MD 43 (Exit 67B, White Marsh Boulevard), to southbound I-95, to westbound I-695 (Exit 64)," the release showed. When complete, the project will allow drivers to use express lanes on I-95 by paying a toll or travel on existing lanes at no additional cost.
