In the aftermath of the shooting at an elementary school in Connecticut last week, leaders from Baltimore City and Montgomery County are calling for stricter gun laws in the state of Maryland. Communities across Maryland have been reeling in the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. Some residents said they feared dropping their children off at school while others demanded action from legislators. Hyattsville Elementary School's new principal, Julia Burton, addressed her students Monday before Prince George's County schools observed a minute of silence to honor the victims of Friday's school shooting in Newtown, CT. Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission employee Charles Duckett was last seen Friday while working as part of a managed deer hunt at Triadelphia Reservoir.
Search operations were expected to resume this morning in hopes of finding a Middle River man who disappeared Friday during his shift with the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission in Montgomery County, according to a news release. Charles "Chuck" Duckett, 35, disappeared at the Triadelphia Reservoir in Brookeville on Friday while working as part of a managed hunt for deer at the site. Duckett, a married father of three, is a maintenance worker assigned to the reservoir who has worked for WSSC for 12 years. "We're not giving up. Please help us find him, and keep him in your prayers until we do," said Erin Coleman, a family friend who read a statement Sunday night on behalf of Duckett's wife Kisha at WSSC's Brighton Dam facility. …
