Investigation Reveals Shot Officer's Weapon Fired
An off-duty police officer was shot in an Overlea area neighborhood in the early morning Dec. 9.
An off duty police officer who was shot in Overlea nearly two weeks ago was able to fire at least two rounds during the attack. A police department investigation found that two rounds were fired from weapon of the Baltimore County police officer shot when a gunman emerged from an unruly crowd near Dale Avenue and Danville Road on Dec. 9, according to an email from police spokeswoman Elise Armacost. "Investigators have not yet determined the context in which the weapon was fired," Armacost wrote, adding that police were able to confirm the officer had not been shot with his own weapon.
