Police Investigating Essex Man's Middle River Shooting

The shooting occurred early in the morning of March 1.

Police detectives continue to investigate a shooting that occurred early this morning near the Victory Villa neighborhood of Middle River. Joseph Thorpe, 27, of the unit block of Glenwood Road in Essex was transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in critical condition following the shooting, according to a news release from the Baltimore County Police Department. Police and EMS responded to the area of Middle River and Compass Roads around 12:03 a.m. Mar. 1 and found Thorpe lying in the road with a gunshot wound to the back of his head in addition to other traumatic injuries, the release states. Anyone with information about this case should call police at 410-307-2020.

Police: Man Shot Multiple Times in Middle River

Anyone with information on the Wednesday evening incident is urged to contact police.

UPDATE (Dec. 13, 11:46 a.m.)—Police are investigating a drug related shooting in the Middle River area Wednesday evening. At about 6:58 p.m., near Middle River Road and Martin Boulevard, a man was shot multiple times. He was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma for treatment, according to a statement released late Wednesday by Baltimore County police. Police have not yet released the victim's identity or any information about a suspect. Late Thursday morning on Twitter, Baltimore County police announced that the victim was 25 years old and that the incident was drug related.  Police urge anyone with information on the shooting to call investigators at 410-307-2020.
