A Middle River man was charged with burglary, theft and assault following the incident last week.
Police used a Taser on a man suspected of breaking into the Essex Library last week and stealing $14.50 from a change tray. The incident happened last Tuesday, Feb. 12, at the library in the 1100 block of Eastern Boulevard. Police say at 8:30 a.m., shortly before the library opened, a man donning a clown mask used garden shears to break in through the locked glass doors, then took $14.50 from a change basket, according to a police report. Officers arrived shortly thereafter, and the man resisted arrest, even after police told him that they would use a Taser on him. He continued resisting and officers then used the Taser. Baltimore County police say they caught two men Oct. 26 who allegedly had just burgled a home in Pikesville. Donte Darryl Harrison, 21, of the 900 block of Holgate Rd. in Essex, and Eric Lemar Reed, 27, of the 6900 block of Blanche Rd., Pikesville, were each charged with three counts of burglary, according to a police report. The report said police arrived at a home in the 7100 block of Plymouth Road as the robbery was being committed. Officers found one suspect at the scene, and chased and caught the other. One of the suspects had cut through a second-floor window, the report said. No property was taken from the residence. Three men attempted to steal an ATV Sunday from a home on the 1000 block of Bowleys Quarters Road in Middle River, police said. According to a police report, three men attempted to push the ATV out of the driveway around 3:30 p.m. when a witness approached the three. The men then abandoned the ATV and ran toward Boweys Quarters Road. Police said the witness could only provide a partial description of two of the men. Two homes were burglarized between Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in the 400 block of Torner Road in Essex, police said. According to Baltimore County police reports, the first burglary occurred around midnight on Christmas Eve. In that incident, a 56-year-old woman arrived home to find her alarm system had been tampered with and someone had stolen a safe, which held documents and about $4,000 in cash. About an hour later, a neighbor discovered the safe in his yard open and empty, police said. The second incident, according to police reports, occurred between noon and 5 p.m. on Dec. 25. Two boats at the Red Eye Yacht Marina Club were vandalized after someone broke into them between Nov. 20-Dec.9, police said. According to police reports, a boat owner contacted officers after discovering that someone had broken the lock to his vessel, drank two bottles of his alcohol and slashed his leather seat cushions. As officers interviewed the first boat owner, another man at the marina, located on the 2200 block of Poplar Road in Essex, told police his boat suffered similar damage. The first boat owner told police his vessel suffered $3,647 in damage while the second owner said his boat suffered more than $1,000 in damages. Two teenage boys were arrested and charged with burglary for allegedly breaking into several vehicles along Martin Road in Essex. According to police reports, a witness flagged down a police officer after seeing the boys, ages 16 and 17, breaking into the vehicles around 2:30 a.m. Sept. 29. Police caught up with the teens, who allegedly had a camera and an iPod that had been taken from one of the vehicles. The boys were arrested and charged before being released to their parents. Burglars snatched money from cash register, an ATM and video poker machines at a Middle River convenience store, police said.

More than $12,000, along with 200 cartons of cigarettes and 40 cell phones, were among the items stolen Friday night from a Middle River convenience store. According to police reports, at 11:50 p.m., two unknown men disabled the alarm and video surveillance systems of the Stop One convenience store, located in the 1500 block of Martin Boulevard.
