Rough Weekend for Essex Football Teams

Eastern Tech and Kenwood each suffered tough losses to Hereford and Parkville, respectively.

It was a rough weekend for high school football in Essex.

and both suffered lopsided losses against Baltimore County foes.

First, Hereford scored 14 second-quarter points and jumped out to a 26-0 lead in a 26-6 win over Eastern Tech on Friday.

Francis Massally had a 63-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter for the lone score for the Mavericks (1-2). Eastern Tech will host  at 7 p.m. Friday at CCBC Essex.

Kenwood dropped to 0-4 on the season following its 30-0 loss Saturday at Parkville.

Running back Travis Jenkins continued to be a bright spot for the Bluebirds. The senior rushed for 93 yards on 11 carries to give him 521 yards on the season.

Defensive end Keith Moody had 11 tackles, two sacks and a 50-yard kickoff return for Kenwood, which is scheduled to host at 7 p.m. Friday at Michael J. Collins Stadium.
