Eastern Tech coach Kevin Cross said he considers Thursday's victory a big win after Mount Hebron had recently defeated Wilde Lake, which is ranked 18th in the latest Varsity Sports Network top 20 poll.

The Mavericks must now wait until Saturday to find out if they qualified for the four-team Class 3A/4A North regional dual meet playoffs. Cross said if the Mavericks make it, it will be an amazing feat to qualify for the regional playoffs for a second straight year, despite moving up from 2A/1A this season.
