The Bluebirds continue their strong start to the season as both the boys and girls teams defeated the Bayhawks on Wednesday night in Essex.

Kenwood's boys basketball team reeled off its eighth straight win with a 67-50 victory over visiting Chesapeake on Wednesday night in Essex.

scored 15 points to go along with 5 steals and 4 assists for (8-1). Senior forward Jonathan Richardson contributed 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks while junior forward Keith Moody had 11 points, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks and 4 steals in the win.

Other contributors for Kenwood included junior guard Dana Johns, who had 8 points and 4 assists, and sophomore forward Keith Moody with 11 points, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks and 4 steals.

Senior forward Denesha Tatum had yet another double-double as she finished with 15 points and 15 rebounds as Kenwood defeated Chesapeake, 46-26.

Point guard Cierra Wilson ran the Bluebirds' offense and finished with 6 points, 4 assists and 7 steals for the night while Janaye Eaddy had 9 points and 5 rebounds.

Kenwood is now 5-2 on the year and next plays at 7 p.m. Friday at Dundalk.
