Essex-Middle River Patch didn't miss any of the start of the high school football season as and kicked off practice on Saturday for the 2011 season.

Eastern Tech looks to build on last season's 11-2 record, which included a region title and a trip to the Class 2A state semifinals. Kenwood is hoping to be competitive after going 2-8 in 2010.

Eastern Tech and Kenwood open their respective seasons on Sept. 2. Eastern Tech hosts City while Kenwood plays at home against Dulaney.
