Men's Lacrosse: CCBC Essex tops CCBC Catonsville

Four players scored at least three goals each as the Knights cruised to an easy 20-5 victory over the Cardinals.

Freshman attack ()scored three goals and dished out five assists as CCBC Essex defeated host-, 20-5.

The Knights (4-1) dominated the contest from the opening faceoff as they jumped out to a 4-0 lead and never looked back. In all, four CCBC Essex players finished with a hat trick.

This included freshman attack Ty Kashur, who had four goals and four assists, while sophomore midfielder Neil Hutchinson () had three goals and an assist and freshman midfielder Austin Spaulding (St. Mary's Ryken) contributed three goals.

Defensively, CCBC Essex—which is ranked No. 2 in the country in the latest NJCAA poll—converted 22 out of 24 clear attempts and while Catonsville had 21 unforced turnovers. Sophomore defenseman Dan Burke (Archbishop Spalding) lead all poles with five ground balls while freshman midfielder Carter Treuchet (Westminster) scooped up eight ground balls and notched five clears.

Sophomore goalie Brian Beatson finished with three saves for CCBC Essex, which hosts Navy Prep at noon on Saturday.
