Foreman: “I loved watching all of the medical shows growing up, especially ‘Paramedics.’ After that, I was hooked. I knew then what I wanted to do with my life.”
Patch: What’s it like being a member of a volunteer fire company?
Foreman: “I’m really learning a lot right now. I’ve gotten certifications in HAZMAT operations, blood borne pathogens, first air, CPR and EMT-B. I’m just trying to be a sponge and soak up all the knowledge I can.”
Patch: What is it that you enjoy about being involved with emergency medical services?
Foreman: “It’s an adrenaline rush when that call comes in and you’re waiting to see what is going to happen next and how you can help the people who need you out there.”
Patch: What are your long-term career goals?
Foreman: “I would love to one day be a paramedic in the fire department, but nursing provides more opportunities. I would like to work at Shock Trauma or in an emergency room. I want to be in a place where I can help as many people as possible and where all the action is all the time. I’ve also thought about joining the Navy, but it’s just something I’m considering right now. “
