Lacrosse: CCBC Essex Tops Delaware Tech, 20-7

The Knights seek to improve to 4-0 when they travel to take on the Stevenson JV team at 8 p.m. in Owings Mills.

Freshman attackman Ty Kashur scored four goals and had four assists as CCBC Essex defeated visiting Delaware Tech, 20-7, on Wednesday night.

Th Knights, ranked second in the NJCAA poll, never trailed in the game as freshman midfielder Austin Spaulding (St Mary’s Ryken) found the back of the net for the first of his two goals just 41 seconds into the contest. CCBC Essex led 8-1 after the first quarter and never looked back.

Sophomore midfielder Neil Hutchinson () scored four goals, freshman attack Andy Thrasher () scored three goals and had an assist while fellow freshman attack Brian White () tallied two goals and two assists for CCBC Essex (3-0).

Also, sophomore midfielder Brent Hiken (Pikesville) won 25-of-26 faceoffs and picked up a school-record 18 ground balls while freshman midfielder Carter Treuchet (Westminster) scooped up 10 ground balls for CCBC Essex, which outshot Delaware Tech 50-13.

Freshman goalie Logan Horvath finished with four saves in the win.
