Lacrosse: CCBC Essex Cruises to Easy Win

The Knights jumped out to a 9-0 first quarter lead en route to a 22-3 win over County College of Morris.

 

Freshman attack Andy Thrasher () scored four of his five goals in the first quarter as CCBC Essex rolled to a 22-3 win Sunday over visiting County College of Morris (N.J.).

CCBC Essex, ranked second in the country in the latest NJCAA poll, never trailed as the Knights jumped out to a 9-0 first quarter lead. Freshman attack Brian White () assisted in this effort by scoring twice in the opening frame. White finished with four goals and two assists.

Other contributors for the Knights (2-0) included sophomore midfielder Neil Hutchinson (), who scored three goals, while freshman attack Ty Kashur contributed two goals and four assists and sophomore attack Zach Gagnon had two goals and two assists.

Also, freshman midfielder Austin Spaulding (St Mary's Ryken) scored twice and freshman goalie Logan Horvath had a team-high four saves and gave up no goals on five shots for CCBC Essex.

Sunday's game marked the first of three scheduled this week for the Knights. They return to action at 7 p.m. Wednesday when they host Delaware Tech before taking on Stevenson's JV team Thursday in Owings Mills.
