Girls Soccer: Mount Carmel to Play for IAAM 'C' Crown

The Cougars hope to upset top seed Chapelgate Christian in the championship match, set for 3:15 Saturday at Friends.

The girls soccer team look to capture the IAAM "C" Conference championship when they face Chapelgate Christian at 3:15 p.m. Saturday at Friends.

Mount Carmel (12-7-1, 4-4 IAAM C), which entered the postseason as the sixth seed, advanced to the finals with a 3-1 win over Key in the quarterfinals followed by a 1-0 win over second-seeded Park in the semifinals.

Chapelgate Christian (14-2, 8-0), the top seed in the tournament, reached the championship match with a 2-0 shutout over Glenelg Country in the semifinals.

In a regular season match, Chapelgate Christian defeated Mount Carmel 8-0 on Oct. 19.
