Eastern Tech Baseball, Softball Win Again

The Mavericks have won seven straight in baseball and 11 in a row in softball.

Neil Westdorp went 2-for-4 with five RBIs and three runs scored as Eastern Tech topped , 18-2, in a game halted after five innings. Chuck Trentler went 2-for-3 with four RBIs and four runs scored while Andy Szamski drove in three runs and scored two more for the Mavericks (11-6).

Pitcher Troy Schuchman allowed two runs on five hits, struck out five and walked one over five innings to pick up the win for Eastern Tech, which has won seven straight.

Eastern Tech next plays at 3:45 p.m. Friday when it hosts archrival .

EASTERN TECH SOFTBALL:  Sophomore pitcher Jordan Cargile struck out 10 and pitched a no hitter as the Mavericks defeated Western Tech, 11-0, in a game halted after five innings.

Senior Alexis Peay went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases while senior Lauren Channell had a two-run triple for Eastern Tech (17-2), which has won 11 straight games.

Eastern Tech closes out the regular season at 3:45 p.m. Thursday before facing Franklin at 4 p.m.  Tuesday at CCBC Catonsville in the Baltimore County championship game.
