Cross Country: Kenwood Takes 2nd in Loch Raven Meet

Jada Boyd finished six minutes ahead of the second place girls runner.

Kenwood High's cross country team took second place in a meet Wednesday at Loch Raven High School, where they faced Loch Raven, Milford Mill and Landsdowne.

The meet, delayed by rain on Tuesday, was "dominated" by the Bluebirds, despite the still wet conditions, Kenwood track coach Mark Planamente said in an email.

Runner Jada Boyd finished second overall, Planamente said, six minutes ahead of the second place girls runner and just behind one male runner from Milford Mill.

The boys and girls varsity squads finished second behind Loch Raven. Here's the rest from Planamente's email:

Ethan Paul, Josh Aquino, Akil White, Romello Parris, and Collin McKinzie fought hard on the JV Boys side and placed in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, and 8th to give the JV Boys the win for the meet.

On the JV Girls side, a 1,2,3 finish for Kaitlynn Armstrong, Tara Vizzi, and Tatyana Wise along with a sprint finish for Alex Lynn to beat out a Loch Raven finisher caused the girls to win the meet.
