Boys Lacrosse: Eastern Tech Opens Season with Win

Mavericks top North County, 7-6; will face Kenwood on Wednesday.

Hunter Oleszczuk scored three goals, Rob Price added two goals and an assist and Bobby Walsh scored twice as topped North County, 7-6, on Tuesday in Essex.

Mavericks coach Tim Scherer said defense kept his team in the game, playing tough throughout.  Goalie Wyatt Almond had some huge saves in the net and the defense cleared the ball well to keep it off the defensive end of the field.

Defensive midfielders Nikk Breslin-Spinnato and  Rich Diesenberg also came up huge, playing excellent defense while giving the midfielders a much-needed rest on the sideline.  Breslin-Spinnato in particular had a game-changing play, breaking up a clear at the end of the game to give the Mavericks posession and ultimately seal the win.
