Kenwood High Partners with Orioles Group

The high school is collecting used sporting goods for the needy.

Kenwood High collected more than 1,000 pieces of athletic gear for charity last year, and it's aiming to beat its own record this month, according to the school's website.

Until March 22, the Sports Science Academy is accepting old equipment—such as trophies, gloves, cleats and balls (deflated ones too!)—which will be refurbished and given to needy children across the globe.

The sports science magnet program at Kenwood is conducting the drive in partnership with an Orioles-affiliated organization called "Oriole Advocates."
