Kenwood Boys Basketball Wins 10th Straight

The Bluebirds are flying high following their

Junior guard Levan Jones scored 15 points, which included going 4-for-5 from three-point range as defeated , 65-47, on Wednesday night in Essex.

Junior guard Dana Johns scored 13 points and had three assists, while sophomore forward Trevis Buckhanon contributed nine points and five rebounds for Kenwood (10-1), which has won 10 straight.

Senior guard finished with nine points and seven assists in the win. Kenwood next plays at 7 p.m. at Woodlawn.

“We played hard for all 32 minutes but we were not sharp mentally,” Kenwood coach Chris Kelly said. “We had many unforced turnovers and mental mistakes.  We will need to be sharper to win on Friday night against Woodlawn.”

Kenwood Girls Basketball Falls at Catonsville

Guard Cierra Wilson scored 10 points and had three assists, but Kenwood came up short at Catonsville, 47-30, on Wednesday night.

Forward Denesha Tatum finished with  7 points and 11 rebounds for Kenwood, which couldn’t overcome 36 turnovers against the Comets.

The Bluebirds look to bounce back from the loss as they host Woodlawn at 7 p.m.

Kenwood Posts Solid Track Meet Showing

Kenwood’s girls team took third place while the boys placed fourth in a six-team indoor track meet on Wednesday at the Fifth Regiment Armory in Baltimore.

Dulaney won both the boys and girls meet with Hereford placing second on both sides. Other participants included , Lansdowne and .

On the girls side, Shaneara Terry won the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.7 seconds, while Diamond Hunter took third in 7.9.

Also for Kenwood, Olivia Riemer and Bethany Herold placed second and third in the high jump as they cleared 4-feet-2-inches and 4-0, respectively.

In addition, the team of Rachel Bauer, Tiffany Kight, Kaitlynn Armstrong and Jada Boyd placed fourth in the 4x800 relay, while

On the boys side, Terrell Griffin won the high jump while teammate with a leap of 5-4, while teammate Kcaffon Hale took fourth with a jump of 5-0. In addition, Shawn Strasdauskas, Garrett Conn, Andrew Diesenberg and Rodney Hardy placed fourth in the 4x800 relay for Kenwood.

Also, Andrew Powis placed fourth in the pole vault as he cleared 8-6.
