Eastern Tech Softball Wins 10th Straight

The Mavericks cruised past Pikesville, 19-4, and are set to face Franklin on May 8 in the Baltimore County championship game at CCBC Catonsville.

 

Freshman infielder Breanna Casper went 4-for-5 with a double and six RBIs as rolled past Pikesville, 19-4, in a game halted after five innings on Tuesday.

Senior second baseman went 3-for-4 with three runs scored, junior outfielder Corrin Cromwell went 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs and freshman Brooke Samios-Uy went 3-for-4 with two RBIs for the Mavericks (16-2), who scored 11 runs in the first two innings and never looked back.

Sophomore pitcher Jordan Cargile allowed two runs and two hits and struck out four for Eastern Tech, which has two regular-season games left before facing on May 8 at CCBC Catonsville in the Baltimore County championship game.

Eastern Tech has won both previous meetings against Franklin this year, winning 4-1 on March 23 and 15-2 on April 2.

EASTERN TECH BASEBALL: Pitcher Matt Evans allowed no runs and two hits and struck out nine over four innings as the Mavericks defeated Overlea, 9-5.

Logan Miller went 2-for-4 with three runs scored while Jimmy Szamski, Andy Szamski, Chris Hook, Billy Hopka, George Cluster and Geno Ciotta each drove in a run for the Mavericks (10-6).

Eastern Tech has now won six straight after losing five of its previous six games. The Mavericks next play at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday at .

KENWOOD BASEBALL: Pitcher Eric Prachniak pitched a complete game and induced 15 groundball outs as the Bluebirds defeated Hereford, 8-5, on Friday.

Trailing 4-1, Kenwood (7-4) scored four times in the bottom of the fourth inning and three more in the fifth inning.This included two RBIs from Anthony Pelekakis and Justin Kitko.
