Town Hall Forum: Offshore Wind Power Works for Baltimore County

The United Steelworkers of Maryland and the Marylanders for Offshore Wind coalition will host a town hall forum at 7 p.m. tonight at the Rosedale library which will focus on a proposal by Gov. Martin O'Malley to construct a 400 - 600 megawatt wind energy farm off of the coast of Ocean City.

Proponents point out that the project would generate enough energy to power half of the homes in Baltimore City.

Also, according to the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development the projec would create around 2,400 jobs statewide, including jobs for the steelworkers in Sparrows Point.
