Borne Appointed to County Commission on Disabilities
Perry Hall attorney appointed by Councilman David Marks
Craig Borne, a attorney and former teacher, has been appointed to the Baltimore County Commission on Disabilities by Councilman David Marks.
The commission advises the county on improving access and opportunity for disabled county residents.
Marks, in a release, said Borne's experience as an attorney with a background in civil rights law "will greatly serve the people of Baltimore County.”

Borne, 38 and a Perry Hall resident, has been blind for 17 years. He has served as a Baltimore County public school teacher. He was also an attorney at the Maryland Department of Transportation and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. As an attorney at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Borne specialized in civil rights and disability access issues.
Borne was appointed by Republican Gov. Robert Ehrlich to the Board of Directors of the Maryland School for the Blind beginning in 2005. He was subsequently reappointed by Democratic Gov. Martin O'Malley.

Borne, a Republican, also ran unsuccessfully for the state senate against Democratic Sen. Kathy Klausmeier in 2006.
Borne and his wife Jean live in Perry Hall with their two children.
