Bevins' Bill Would Tweak Boat Storage Restrictions
The bill, introduced at the County Council's meeting last week, changes a level restriction on boat storage facilities.
Under a bill introduced last week in the Baltimore County Council, boat storage facilities on the county's waterfront may be able to expand.
Currently, boat storage facilities can be no taller than three levels. The bill, sponsored by Oliver Beach Democrat Cathy Bevins, would amend Baltimore County zoning law to allow a special exception for facilities above that height.
Such facilities of three or more levels would still need to meet a 60-foot setback requirement and be no taller than 36 feet.

The bill would also edit the code to apply the law to "other water craft, or trailers therefore," in addition to boats.
The bill is scheduled to be discussed in a council work session on Oct. 30 at 2 p.m. and a vote is planned for Nov. 5 in the council chambers in Towson.
