Baltimore County Library Names New Administrator

Veteran library system employee James C. Cooke will assume the role of assistant director for support services, effective July 28.

The Baltimore County Library System has named a veteran library employee to the position of assistant director of support services.

James C. Cooke, who started with the system as a librarian in 1999, will assume his new role July 28, according to a statement from library officials.

"I look forward to building even stronger collaborative relationships that defy the boundaries of office or location and bring us together as one system working to achieve a common vision and mission," Cooke said in the statement.

Cooke, a Towson resident, has also been a selector in the system's collection department, the chief of bibliographic services and most recently served as the planning and projects manager.

He earned a master's degree in library and information science from the University of Wisconsin in 2004.
