Air National Guard to Host Groundbreaking for Training Facility
The $11.8 million facility will house offices, medical areas, classrooms and conference rooms.
The Maryland Air National Guard will host a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday for a new 31,500-square-foot facility in Middle River.
The Medical and Training Facility at Warfield Air National Guard Base will house functions including offices, medical examination and treatment areas, classrooms, conference rooms, a data center and utility services, national guard officials said in a government statement.
Dignitaries including Adjutant General Maj. Gen. James A. Adkins and County Executive Kevin Kamenetz will be on hand for the groundbreaking on the base at 2 p.m. Tuesday.

The building's construction is projected to cost $11.8 million, and the building is expected to be complete by June 2014. The building is expected to meet the energy-efficiency guidelines set out for LEED Silver certification.
