Woman Robs Essex Wells Fargo Bank

The woman implied she had a gun when she approached a teller and demanded money around 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday.

Police are searching for a woman suspected of robbing the Wells Fargo bank in Essex on Tuesday morning.

According to police reports, the suspect entered the bank, located on the 600 block of Eastern Blvd., around 9:45 a.m. She approached the teller and implied she had a gun.

Police said the suspect then told the teller not to scream or she would use the gun. The suspect demanded $50 bills and $100 bills, and the teller complied.

According to reports, the suspect then fled the bank and headed northbound on North Stuart Street before getting into a "grey/sliver small SUV-type vehicle."

Police describe the suspect as a black female, 5-foot-3, about 100 pounds and was last seen wearing black tights, tan boots and brown gloves.
