The Maryland Emergency Management Agency has a map on its website that visitors can use to figure out where they are in relation to the flood plain, weather alerts, hospitals and other things worth knowing as Hurricane Sandy draws near.
The storm could dump up to a foot of rain on Maryland and, depending on where the storm makes landfall, storm surge could be much more in some shoreline communities.
Another option on the map highlights areas particularly at risk for hurricane storm surge. For people who live in those areas, it probably is no surprise.
