Police say the incident occurred early Tuesday morning.

Two men were injured in a robbery in Middle River early Tuesday morning.

Police said that a man was walking in the 2300 block of Old Eastern Avenue around 1 a.m. Tuesday, when he was approached by two men who robbed him of prescription pain medication in the roadway.

During the robbery the victim was stabbed by one of the robbers and the victim also stabbed one of his assailants, said police spokeswoman Cpl. Cathleen Batton.

Both of the robbers then ran off—one was apprehended a short time later, and the other was found at Franklin Square Hospital where he was receiving treatment for his injuries, Batton said.

The victim was also transported to Franklin Square Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatning injuries, she said.
