Two Face Sentencing in Towson Town Center Shooting

Two men convicted for their roles in a fatal December shooting at Towson Town Center will face sentencing Friday.

William Ward III and Frank Theodore Williams were both convicted of first-degree murder and conspiracy charges in Baltimore County Circuit Court in September. Both men could face up to life in prison.

Judge Robert E. Cahill Jr. will preside over the pair's sentencing in the Friday morning hearing.

Prosecutors said Ward, 45, of Baltimore and Williams, 32, of Baltimore Highlands were part of a group that followed Baltimore teen Rodney Vest Pridget through Towson Town Center before alleged gunman Tyrone Brown shot eight times outside Nordstrom on Dec. 19, during the height of the holiday shopping season.

Surveillance footage and phone records showed the men communicating and interacting around the mall.

Accomplice Jermell Brandon, who allegedly made the phone call to Williams that led to Williams driving to the mall with Ward and accused gunman Tyrone Brown, testified during the trial that the four met to discuss plans to kill Pridget and that Brown took the role of shooter to advance his status in the gang.

Brown's trial has postponed to 2013. Brandon struck a plea deal with prosecutors and faces up to 20 years in federal prison on a conspiracy charge.
