Two Businesses Destroyed in Three-Alarm Blaze in Rosedale

Part of Pulaski Highway shut down as firefighters battled on of many fires across the region on Saturday.

Two businesses were destroyed as Baltimore County firefighters battled a three-alarm blaze on Saturday afternoon in Rosedale.

The fire broke out at about 2 p.m.at the Strong Arm Bail Bonds, located at 8555 Pulaski Highway. Firefighters from the Golden Ring station arrived on the scene and attempted to fight the fire from the inside but the smoke and flames intensified to the point where they had to evacuate the building.

 The fire eventually spread to Bed World, a business located next door and in the same building. Both businesses eventually burned to the ground.

The fire was so intense that a portion of Pulaski Highway, along with the ramp to I-695 had to be closed for several hours.

The Rosedale fire was one of many reported throughout the region which were exacerbated by high winds, warm weather and low humidity.

According to the National Weather Service, "A combination of very strong winds, low relative humidity and warm termperatures will create explosive fire growth potential."
