Tetso Murder Conviction Upheld on Appeal

A Rosedale man's conviction for killing his wife has been upheld by a state appeals court.

In October 2010, Dennis Tetso was convicted of second-degree murder for killing Tracey Gardner-Tetso, despite her body never being recovered.

Testso's conviction was upheld Monday in an 82-page decision by the Maryland Court of Special Appeals.

"Anytime you have a novice legal approach, you are waiting for you work to be affirmed on appeal," Baltimore County State's Attorney Scott Shellenberger said.

The key to the investigation, Shellenberger said, was video that showed Gardner-Tetso’s car in a parking lot, found not long after she disappeared.

The video showed the car being remotely locked with a key fob that Testo had in his possession when he was arrested.

Prosecutors argued it had to be Testo who killed his wife because she had the only known fob for the vehicle.

"This was a case where the appeals court found there were no errors from the judge or prosecutors that warranted the conviction to be overturned," Shellenberger said.

Shellenberger added that Tetso, who was sentenced to 18 years in prison, can still appeal to the Maryland Court of Appeals.
