Perry Hall Man Killed in Crash Near Franklin Square Hospital

Excessive speed appears to have caused the two-vehicle accident, Baltimore County Police said.

A 19-year-old Perry Hall man was killed Wednesday in a two-vehicle accident near Franklin Square Hospital Center that appears to have been caused by excessive speeding, Baltimore County police said.

Alfredas Josep Ortman, 19, of the 4000 block of Cliffvale Road in Perry Hall, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred at about 11:40 a.m. near the intersection of Franklin Square Drive and Castle Creek Circle.

According to a press release from the Baltimore County Police Department, Ortman was traveling east on Franklin Square Drive at a high speed. His vehicle crossed over the center line of Franklin Square Drive and collided with a vehicle traveling west on the same road.

The release also confirmed that the driver of the second vehicle, a 53-year-old woman, was transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.

No charges will be filed against the driver of the second vehicle, police said.
