Baltimore County police officials have charged a Middle River teenager with first-degree murder in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred June 20.

Tyshawn Francis, 16, of the 200 block of Glider Drive, has been charged as an adult in the stabbing death of Anthony Theodore Whiting, 19, of the 9600 block of Bird River Road.

At 12:18 p.m. June 20, Baltimore County police officers reported to the area of Pawnee Road after receiving multiple 911 calls about juveniles fighting in the area, according to a statement from spokeswoman Cpl. Cathy Batton.

When they arrived, officers found Whiting suffering from at least one stab wound. Whiting was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, according to Batton.

Francis has been charged with one count of first-degree murder and is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
