Essex Crime: Man Assaulted, Robbed by Teen

The 15-year-old allegedly chased, punched, kicked and robbed a 48-year-old man Saturday night.

 

A 15-year-old Essex boy was arrested after allegedly assaulting and robbing a man on Saturday night, authorities said.

According to police reports, the 48-year-old male victim was walking about 7 p.m. along the unit block of Finnsbu Place when he was allegedly approached by the suspect.

The victim told police the suspect started yelling at him and asking him for money. The suspect then allegedly chased the victim, kicked and pushed him and stole two gold necklaces, a watch, a pair of shoes and $6, the report stated.

A witness identified the suspect, told police where he lived and that he had changed his clothes following the alleged crime. Officers then went to the suspect’s home and arrested him.
