Police: Two Dundalk Residents Allegedly Stole Package From Friend

The theft was allegedly committed as the pair were leaving.

Two Dundalk residents were charged last week with theft and burglary after allegedly stealing a package from a friend in Essex.

According to police, the incident happened at 2 p.m. on Jan. 12 in the 1300 block of East Riverside Avenue.

The pair, a man and a woman, were visiting and stole a UPS delivery box containing a Chevrolet throttle body while they were leaving.

Hope C. Laubach, 32, of the 800 block of Jaydee Avenue in Dundalk and Eric J. Byrd, 26, of the 700 block of Aldworth Avenue in Dundalk were both arrested and charged with theft and first-degree burglary. Laubach is also charged with a second count of theft, fourth-degree burglary and burglary with a fourth-degree theft.

Laubach was arrested on Jan. 17, while Byrd was arrested on Tuesday.

Byrd remains held without bail. Laubach was freed Monday on $25,000 bail, according to court records. A preliminary hearing for Byrd will be held in district court in Towson on Feb. 14. No court date is yet listed for Laubach.
