Police: Essex Man Attempts Krauszer's Break-In Using Brick

Police arrested Erik Joseph Marshall, who was released on bond Sunday.

An Essex man was arrested and charged with theft, burglary and destruction of property charges following an attempted break-in at Krauszer's Food Store early Saturday morning.

According to police, between 2:45 and 2:57 a.m. on Sept. 15, a man stole a brick from a yard in the 300 block of Stemmers Run Road and used it to try to break the glass at Krauszer's, located in the same block.

Erik Joseph Marshall, 20, of the 400 block of Delaware Avenue was found and arrested in a nearby alley, according to a police report. He matched a description provided by a witness who saw a man grab the brick and attempt to break the windows.

Marshall was charged with burglary and fourth-degree theft, malicious destruction of property and attempted second-degree burglary, according to online court records. Records show Marshall was freed from the Baltimore County Detention Center in Towson on Sunday on $20,000 bond.
