Police are asking the public for help finding the man suspected in the recent assault of a 98-year-old woman in her home near Rodgers Forge, according to a statement from the Baltimore County Police Department.
Officials have obtained an arrest warrant for Paul Earnest Howard Jr., 50, of no fixed address, but said they cannot find him.
The warrant charges him with attempted first-degree rape, first-degree assault, a third-degree sex offense and theft less than $100, according to police.
Twice on Saturday, the man knocked on a woman's back door in the 300 block of Gaywood Road near Rodgers Forge, police said.
The first time, he said he was offering home improvement services, and she told him she did not need the help, according to police.
The second time he came knocking, the man asked to come inside, the woman let him in, and after she asked him when he planned to leave, he threw her to the ground, police said.
He then attempted to rape her in her home, according to police.
The woman was taken to an area hospital, where she remains for treatment, said Corporal John Wachter, public information officer for the Baltimore County Police Department.
The suspect remained at large Tuesday evening, according to police, who asked for help locating him.
"Investigators feel that he is a danger to the community and need the public's assistance to apprehend him," the Baltimore County Police Department said Tuesday.
