Guns don't kill people, people kill people.

Time to get my daughter son in law and grandchildren to move. That area used to be such a great working class place to raise a family. Everybody pitched in at the schools. All the neighbors helped with kids. We all knew everybody. Its not that anymore. I raised my daughter in middle river. It's so ghetto anymore. What happened ?

Way too close to home. It really doesn't matter where you live anymore. Very sad.

Debbie how I wish I could say that it doesnt happen in Essex but it does :/ I just believe news should be reported as factual as it can be. With all due respect to the editor she is not from our Essex/Middle River area and is probably not aware of the difference.

There was a teenager shot Saturday night in Hawthorne. It is not safe anywhere.

I grew up there and it was a safe place, but that was a long time ago. It is sad what has happened.

It's in Middle River but they usually report crime based on police precinct. This area is part of Essex Precinct - Middle River doesn't have it's own police precinct.

Sad to say there's no safe place to live! Middle River is in Essex. Thirty five years ago when I was raising my kids there it was a nice, ideal place to live. I pray my grandkids don't get shot in any crossfire! Actually, I pray for ANYONE living there!

I live in Middle River and it is off of the beaten path. Neighbors help neighbors and we could not ask for a better place to live. Our area is patrolled by police and the fire department is close by. My point is there is good and bad in all areas and to make things better get a gun and have large dogs. if by chance something goes down, you will either get shot or bitten. This is a no-nonse area. Everyone has dogs and guns!! Scum should beware.

Middle River is not in Essex. Middle River is in Middle River.

I was thinking that if Middle River and Essex were the same place then this would be called the Essex Essex Patch, right?
Amanda Mallory December 14, 2012 at 06:52 PM
Totally agree!
Amanda Mallory December 14, 2012 at 06:52 PM
Same thing! Just down the road from each other. It happens in both areas. More in Essex if you ask me!
