Police: Man Kicked Down Ex-Girlfriend's Door

An Essex man was arrested early Saturday after allegedly kicking down the door of his ex-girlfriend's home.

The incident happened at 2:46 a.m. on Oct. 13 in the 900 block of Ashbridge Drive in Essex. According to a police report, the man had been texting the resident and said he was not knocking on her door, contrary to what the resident said. The resident then looked out the window and asked the man to leave.

According to the police report, the man kicked the door in, entered briefly, then fled.

Police arrested Andrew Bryan Baranowski, 25, of the 1000 block of S. Marlyn Avenue on Saturday. He was charged with third-degree burglary, fourth-degree burglary, trespassing and destruction of property, and released Monday on his own recognizance.
