Police Investigating Pair of Essex Robberies

Two women were robbed in separate incidents on Tuesday morning, police said.

Baltimore County police are investigating what they said are two unrelated robberies that occurred just hours apart on Tuesday morning in Essex.

In the first case, a 43-year-old woman told police she was robbed at gunpoint at around 6:30 a.m. According to police reports, the woman said she was walking along Middleborough Road and Brighton Manor Drive when a man approached her from behind and implied he had a gun.

The man then told the woman to give him her property, which she did, the reports stated. The robber ran off with the victim’s cell phone, her Maryland ID card, two debit cards and $500, which she told police she had planned to use to pay her rent.

Police said the suspect then got into a black sedan that another man was driving before the car turned around and headed east on Middleborough Road.

In the second case, a 41-year-old woman told police she was robbed as she returned home around 9:20 a.m.

According to police reports, the victim said she came back to her apartment, located in the 1100 block of Sandystone Road, when she noticed her door was slightly open. She told police she saw two men inside, but before she could escape, one of the men dragged her back inside, the report stated.

The victim told police, according to reports, that the men were looking for drugs. Before leaving, the men allegedly stole a Nintendo Wii, an Xbox, jewelry and a cell phone.

Neither victim was hurt in the robberies, police said.

Anyone with information on either case is asked to contact the Essex Precinct at 410-887-0220.
