Police Investigating Pair of Early-Morning Robberies in Essex

Two men reported being approached and robbed in separate, unrelated incidents on Saturday.

Baltimore County police are investigating a pair of robberies that took place early Saturday morning.

In the first incident, a 29-year-old man reported being robbed at gunpoint at the intersection of Stemmers Run Road and Old Eastern Ave., according to police reports.

The victim told police he was walking around 2:45 a.m. when a gray Ford Taurus pulled up and two men jumped out of the back seats. According to the reports, one of the suspects allegedly held a gun to the victim while the other suspect stole his cell phone and wallet containing $65.

The suspect then allegedly fled in the vehicle toward Route 702.

In the second case, a 37-year-old Essex man was allegedly beaten and robbed by a group of four males, according to police reports.

The victim told police he was walking around 5 a.m. along Middleborough Road when the suspects asked him for a cigarette. After telling the males he did not have one, the suspects allegedly followed the victim and punched him repeatedly before escaping with the victim’s cell phone, shoes, keys and bankcard.
