Police Investigating Link Between Pizza Delivery Robberies

Police have cautioned local pizza shops following two incidents on Tace Drive.

Police are investigating two possibly related armed robberies involving pizza delivery drivers in Essex.

The two robberies, 10 days apart, both happened in the 1100 block of Tace Drive.

, a man pointed a revolver at a driver from Prima Pizza and stole $70 and a guardian angel coin as the driver attempted to make a delivery. , the driver was approached after making his delivery by two men, one with a knife. In that case, the driver gave the men $65 and they fled.

Essex precinct Capt. Steven Hlavach said police are investigating a possible link and have advised pizza shops to stay on alert and take precautions, such as asking customers to come outside when delivering to a poorly-lit area.

"We're telling them to be responsible," he said.
