Police Investigate Skeletal Remains Found In Essex

Police could not confirm Saturday evening if the remains were human or not.

Baltimore County Police are investigating reports of skeletal remains in Essex Saturday afternoon.

Around 4:30 p.m. detectives were dispatched to the 200 block of Back River Neck Road to look into a report of found skeletal remains, Cathy Batton, spokeswoman for Baltimore County Police, said.

"We can't confirm that they're human at this point," Batton said shortly before 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

The medical examiner was expected to join detectives at the scene to determine whether or not the remains are human.
