UPDATE (4:07 p.m.)—Police have made an arrest in the murder of a 30-year-old Essex woman that occurred Wednesday morning.
Darian Rashaad Walker, 19, of the 1400 block of Winter Park Circle has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the homicide. He is currently being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
In a statement, police said Walker allegedly knew the victim, exchanged phone calls with her and took a taxi cab to her apartment shortly before her death. The nature of Walker and Ragle's relationship has not yet been determined.
When officers responded to a call for a gunshot victim, they found Tiffany Lynn Ragle dead on the floor of her apartment in the 900 block of Garden Drive in Essex, police said.
Ragle, 30, had been shot multiple times, according to police. There were no signs of forced entry at the apartment.
Police are asking anyone with further information about the crime to contact the department at 410-307-2020 or to submit a tip through Metro Crime Stoppers. Information that leads to the arrest and indictment of a suspect for the crime may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
