Police Capture Alleged Bank Robber

Christopher L. Royer was caught by police Saturday following the heist of a Bank of America in Middle River.

A 44-year-old man was arrested Saturday after allegedly robbing the in Middle River.

Christopher L. Royer allegedly entered the bank on the 1200 block of Windlass Drive, at about 11:49 a.m., and handed the teller a note demanding money, according to police reports.

The teller told police the note read: “Please don’t make me hurt you. All the money in the register. All loose bills. No dye packs. Don’t talk, no alarms and you won’t get killed. Give this back.”

The teller told police she showed the note to the bank manager who gave the defendant approximately $1,200 with a dye pack mixed with the cash. The robber, who wore a fake beard and sunglasses into the bank, fled on a scooter.

Not long after, police arrested Royer, of the 100 block of Compass Road, at Compass Road near Sandhill Road. The teller and another bank employee later identified Royer — who had crashed his scooter —to police.

Royer is currently being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
